Adv. ODHIAMBO Charles Meso’s practice focuses on tax, banking and finance, projects and infrastructure, corporate and commercial law and commercial dispute resolution. Charles is retained as legal advisor by three leading commercial banks in Kenya and has been at the forefront of the review and development of financial institutions’ regulation in Kenya. In finance mandates, Charles has acted for lenders such as the International Finance Corporation and several multinational development financial institutions for their Kenya-based projects, including the initial and additional project financing of the US$ 20 million Rail Construction.
In tax, Charles provides advice on a range of tax issues with respect to income tax (corporate taxation), value added tax, withholding tax, customs, tax planning and compliance, and transfer pricing and international taxation. Charles also acts in tax disputes, and has represented Vivo Energy (Shell) Kenya, Standard Chartered Bank and Rift Valley Railways in high-value tax mandates.Charles is also a disputes practitioner of considerable expertise. Charles holds a Bachelor of Laws degree of Mount Kenya University, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice of the ILPD and currently perusing a Master of Law in Corporate and Commercial Law of the University of Cambridge. He is a member of the Rwanda Bar Association and the East African Law Society,
